In Serbia, taxis are relatively expensive and are, for most, only used at night when buses run less frequently. They are easy to find at taxi stands in central locations such as train stations, the larger squares, and the last stop on major bus routes. They can also be hailed as they drive the streets. Arranging for a cab by phone reduces the price by 20%. In Belgrade, some taxis only drive one particular bus route and can be hailed and shared by up to four people. Each person pays a set fee to go anywhere on that particular route. Telephone numbers for the numerous cab companies are published daily in the local newspapers.
