Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to either 3:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m., depending on the day. It is more convenient to get cash now that ATM machines have become more common. Funds withdrawn will be given in Argentine currency with a minimal fee for exchange. One can exchange money at the airport, in banks or money exchange bureaus. It is unwise to exchange money on the street since there is a high risk of encountering counterfeit currency.
